Cannibalism has probably existed since the first humans appeared. In 1999, French and American archaeologists discovered evidence of cannibalism among Neanderthals in a cave in southeastern France. Regions where cannibalism occurred probably include the West Indies, West and Central Africa, Melanesia, Polynesia, Australia, New Zealand, Central America and North America. At an archaeological site in southwest Colorado, evidence was found that people were killing and eating each other here 850 years ago. Dr. Richard Marlar and his colleagues at the University of Colorado School of Medicine discovered thousands of human bones at a number of sites. Scientists have suggested that this is the result of cannibalism.

Cannibalism could arise for many reasons. Sometimes there simply wasn't enough food. Later it was associated with religion, magic, military rituals, crimes and punishments. If a warrior killed a brave enemy, then, according to the ritual, he had to eat him, and then the courage and strength of the defeated enemy were infused into the winner. This practice was called endocannibalism.

Mass cannibalism was observed among the military of Napoleon's hungry army retreating from Moscow in 1812. In 1816, people who survived the sinking of the frigate "Medusa" and drifted in lifeboats ate those who were already weakened. So did members of the Donner Expedition, who were trapped in the snow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains from the winter of 1846 to 1847. In 1972, survivors of a plane crash in the Andes ate dead passengers.

One of the most famous cannibals is Fritz Haarmann, the "Hanoverian Vampire". In 1924, in Germany, he killed 27 boys, cooked their meat into sausages and sold them to unsuspecting people. Jeffrey Dahmer from Michigan, as well as Armin Meiwes from Germany, also became famous - he killed and ate a man whom he met on the Internet. Cases of cannibalism are occasionally reported in remote areas of Papua New Guinea and Central Africa.

Are people naturally hostile or peaceful?

Apparently, a state of war rather than peace is normal for humanity. Some anthropologists argue that almost every society, ancient or modern, has been at war quite regularly. Between small tribes and huge countries, we humans have been fighting each other almost non-stop for 5 thousand years (at least from 3200 BC to the present). And the last century has not improved these sad statistics at all. Since the end of World War II, the world has witnessed more than 150 wars. And the Second World War was the bloodiest in human history. It claimed the lives of 45 million people.

Anthropologist Dr. Kate Otterbein has been studying the nature of war for a long time. According to his theory, three conditions are necessary for hostilities to occur. The first is “pushing to extremes,” or “a matter of survival and hatred.” This immediately leads to conflicts such as the fight for food or water, and also gives rise to confrontation between related groups. The second is “crowding” or “impossibility of neighboring”. These are secondary causes of conflict when people want to take over neighboring lands that they don't really need for survival. Third, “war begets war.” The results of past wars show people that war can be profitable, and they hope to acquire new natural resources, increase their influence, wealth and power23.

Is it true that people are more aggressive now?

(Asked by F. Billington, Storrs, Connecticut, USA)

Our world seems so hostile. However, oddly enough, people's belligerence is actually decreasing. For the 20th century the number of victims of combat operations exceeded 100 million people, more than 170 million people died as a result of certain government actions. However, the number of adults killed in military action is declining, especially in democracies. Anthropologist Lawrence G. Keeley writes: “Archaeological evidence suggests that, with very few exceptions, most ancient civilizations were almost constantly at war. In any case, in the modern world this happens much less often. If in ancient times, on average, about 25% of the adult population died as a result of wars, then approximately 200 years ago this figure was already less than 10%.”24.

According to Lloyd de Moz, in modern democracies, less than 1% of adult deaths are victims of military action25.

Cannibals of our time August 28th, 2012

Events of the last two or three years, each of which in itself
plunges a normal person with a healthy psyche into shock for a long time, in my opinion,
do not evoke the proper attitude among the so-called public.
The media presenting news of this kind are dispassionate.

This shouldn't happen. Shouldn't exist in Human society.
And don’t tell me about the requirements of genre and style.
This is not human. Not human...

But if “it” exists, it means that someone needs it.

This means that this same public is taught to be dispassionate.
She is secretly but persistently required to accept the advance of the cannibals
for granted.
The media are directly involved in this.
They are accomplices in the crime against Human Civilization..

Eight people were brought to trial who, in the summer of 2008, monstrously and cynically dealt with three girls and a boy.

The leader of the sectarians, nicknamed Count Nikolai Ogolobyak, received the longest sentence.
He was sentenced to 20 years in a maximum security colony.
Konstantin Baranov will spend 10 years in a maximum security colony.

The remaining members of the sect are Alexey Chistyakov, Alexander Voronov,
Alexey Solovyov and Ksenia Kovaleva received from 8 to 10 years in a general regime colony.
Sergei Karpenko, as an accomplice, was sentenced to two years in a penal colony.

Anton Makovkin was declared insane by investigators and sent for compulsory treatment to a psychiatric hospital.
Let us remind you that Satanists were accused of ritual murder and abuse of the bodies of four teenagers. Four of the accused were minors at the time of the crimes.

From June 28 to June 30, 2008, people calling themselves Satanists
performed a rite of passage for new people into their clan,” Lyubov Bashkirova, head of the department for investigating particularly important cases of the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Federation Prosecutor’s Office for the Yaroslavl Region, told Life News. - The first one was dedicated to Ksenia Kovalev on the night of June 28-29. During this ritual, Olga Pukhova and Anna Gorokhova were sacrificed.

The second to be dedicated on the night of June 29-30 was Alexey Solovyov.
The victims of his initiation were Varvara Kuzmina and 17-year-old Andrei Sorokin.

Performing initiation rites, clan members lit a fire on both the first and second nights, recited their ritual spells, and then killed the teenagers and then dismembered their dead bodies.
Then they buried parts of their bodies in a huge hole filled with water, not far from an upside-down iron cross, a symbol of Satanism, and a wooden cross,
on which hung a dead cat.

As all members of the Satanist clan admitted during the investigation,
They came to this lifestyle in 2006.
At first they sacrificed cats and dogs, and then they decided to make people victims of their rituals. Their choice fell on these four teenagers.

The materials of this monstrous criminal case totaled about 2,000 pages.
The trial itself began in the Yaroslavl Regional Court and lasted for almost six months.
During the trial, the Satanists hid their faces.
The death of people associated with these eight did not end with the imprisonment of the Satanists.
While the trial was going on, 31-year-old lawyer Sergei Vanteev,
defended Yaroslavl teenagers accused of murdering four people,
committed suicide right in his office.

The day before, he was in a state of strong alcoholic intoxication and caused an accident.
On his desk, investigators found an empty 0.7 liter bottle of vodka.
A version of incitement to suicide was worked out.

During the announcement of the verdict, the accused behaved calmly.
But when asked whether they would admit their guilt, none of them said a word.
The mother of the brutally tortured Varya Kuzmina screamed for the criminals to reveal their faces.

But the Satanists were unperturbed.
“No city would have given such a lenient sentence,” the indignant parents of the victims shouted after the court decision was announced.
- This is not a sentence, this is a show! - Olga Gorokhova’s mother told Life News. - This is a call for more murders. We will go all the way to the Supreme Court so they get real punishment. We were sure that they would be given life imprisonment!

According to the law, minors (they were minors at the time of the crime), regardless of the number and inhumanity of the crimes, cannot be given a sentence of more than 10 years, - Tatyana Rachinskaya, senior prosecutor of the criminal justice department of the Yaroslavl Regional Court, commented on the court decision. -
Yes. What they did boggles the mind.
This is a heinous crime. But they are minors - and therefore the sentences cannot exceed 10 years in prison.

Should Satanism be considered only as a product of sects?

All cults known to the world in one way or another contain elements of cannibalism.
Directly or indirectly. But that's all. No official religion in the world claims:
"Man - that sounds proud."

And along with this, the international movements for human rights get along well.
Fighting who with whom?
Yes, that’s why they get along because it’s for them, for our rights and against us! -
All kinds of evil spirits are fighting - homosexuals, Satanists, zombies, cannibals...
For our "birthright"...

Two months ago, the Supreme Court of Yakutia sentenced to 12 years in a maximum security colony a resident of the Saratov region, Alexei GORULENKO, who, together with his friend Andrei KUROCHKIN, went fishing on the Amur and got lost. After four months of wandering through the taiga, Gorulenko was found. And soon they discovered his friend - or rather, what was left of him. Kurochkin's body was hacked to pieces with an axe. It turned out that a friend beat the unfortunate man and left him to die in the cold. And then he dismembered and ate his friend, roasting him at the stake.

Cannibal fisherman Alexey Gorulenko was punished for intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, negligently resulting in the death of the victim. He was not accused of cannibalism - there is no article about this in the Russian Criminal Code. Fortunately, horrifying stories with such forced cannibals are extremely rare - people do this out of desperation, having no other way to survive. Yes, and crazy maniacs who want to chew what they shouldn’t are represented in single copies in our time.

But this is if we talk about the relatively civilized world: there are people like you - just imagine - brrr... But on the paradise islands of Polynesia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Australia, the wilds of Africa, Brazil, cannibals still cannot do without their loved ones “ delicacies." And if you dig into the past, it becomes obvious: this phenomenon constitutes a rich historical and cultural layer of world civilization. Traces of cannibalism can be found in the myths, traditions and beliefs of many countries. Experts assure that cannibalism is a kind of growing disease: at different stages of development, all nations must inevitably suffer from it.

Unhappy savage people

The Neanderthals also muddied the waters - due to the lack of plant and animal food, they adapted to devour old, small and weak representatives of their few groups - those from whom there was no use in the economy. However, with the development of tribal relations, the ritual of extracting dinner from human flesh became more complicated and overgrown with conventions: our ancestors rightly decided that it was worthless to kill people living in one group, and switched to strangers. The first wars were over food - the losers were honorably sent to a barbecue.

A European sailor who was captured by the Tupinamba Indians in 1554 was impressed by the ritual of eating prisoners. Having somehow managed to get out unharmed, the traveler remembered the savage custom for a long time. The slaves, tied hand and foot, were first given over to be torn to pieces by women and children, who beat them as hard as they could. Then the largest one from the group was singled out, and the rest were left in reserve. “Lucky” was decorated with feathers, after which the Indians walked in ritual dances in front of him.
Preparations for the gala dinner continued for several months. The prisoner was fed sweetly, methodically bringing him to the desired condition. He was allowed to move around the village, seated at the same table with the locals, and even allowed to copulate with the natives. On the day when the prisoner, accustomed to carnal pleasures, was to become the main dish, as a sign of gratitude for the “warm” welcome, he bequeathed the sirloin parts of his body to the citizens he especially loved.

The “ritual dish” was brought to a blazing fire in the square. A blow to the head with a baton - and the cooks get involved in cutting up the body. A plug is inserted into the anus of the murdered person so that not a single vitamin falls out during the cooking process. Amid the approving cries of its relatives, the skinned carcass is ceremoniously sent to the fire and, when the body is browned, the limbs are separated from it, which are picked up by women with cries of joy and carried throughout the village. All those present are invited to the meal, and the relish begins.
The above ritual fits perfectly into the framework of the then ideas about mercy and humane treatment of prisoners. The North American Indians did not perform such ceremonies - in their belief, the more the victim suffers, the juicier and meatier the roast will be. The Hurons and Iroquois were distinguished by the greatest bloodthirstiness, who tore out the hearts of captives from the chests and immediately ate them raw.
Another “entertainment” of the sadists was to force the victim to run over burning firebrands. The bones of the victim’s arms were broken, they tied her up and simmered her on the coals for a long time, pouring water on her, trying to bring her to her senses - it was believed that the longer a person remained alive on the fire, the better his flesh would be cooked.

Dancing on the bones

Why do people eat their own kind? Here's how to look. They eat when there really is nothing else to fill the stomach with - in the Brazilian thickets for women and children deprived of proteins, a well-fried human cutlet was an excellent vitamin supplement to a diet of rat meat and garbage. It's the same story in Africa, where famines often break out.
But the more likely motive was always rage towards the enemy and the desire to destroy him literally to the last bone. Wild people believed that when eaten, the spirit of the killed person passes to the winner, giving him strength and courage.

However, one should not think that lunch was obtained exclusively by force: wild people are not animals. Quite good “food packages” were obtained from those who died of natural causes. There were many recipes for ritual dishes that inconsolable relatives prepared from the dead dear to their hearts. Latin Americans loved to chew on charred bones like chips, or suck on finely chopped pieces of a dead body roasted over a fire. In African tribes, crushed ashes were added to drinks. Lovers of delicacies buried their fellow tribesmen in the ground, where the meat dried out a little, after which the “food” was removed, enjoying the aroma that knocked you off your feet and the pieces melting in your mouth.

The Congolese Batetela tribes, who gave the world the world famous Patrice Lumumba, ate old people as soon as they showed signs of infirmity, thereby relieving them of sad thoughts and long illnesses. By eating the decrepit body, they believed that they were absorbing the wisdom of their ancestors, thereby ensuring the continuity of generations.
The neighbors did the same - the inhabitants of the Kraketo tribe smoked the dead over low heat until the corpse was completely dehydrated. After this, the mummy was placed in a hammock and suspended from the ceiling in the deceased’s house. A few years later, the remains were burned, and what was left was ground, mixed with corn mash and drunk, remembering the deceased with a kind word.

By the way
According to biochemists and nutritionists, human meat is the most suitable product for our bodies. It is easily digested, contains useful vitamins and amino acids, and is not allergic.

Bokassa had a grudge against Brezhnev

The President of the Central African Republic (CAR), Jean-Bedel Bokassa, became famous throughout the world for his passion for eating political opponents. The personal chef did not hide the fact that he served mayonnaise to the chef of the opposition leaders for lunch. Bokassa could not live without human meat and, when traveling abroad, he took canned food with him with him. In 1970, the “fry lover” visited the USSR - according to tradition, he was greeted by pioneers with flowers, whom he paternally pecked on the cheeks. The cannibal also kissed Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev. In general, Bokassa really liked the custom of kissing when meeting - he said that it allows you to feel the taste of the skin. Returning, the extravagant ruler smacked all the ministers, driving the unfortunate people into a stupor. And for a long time he remembered his meeting with the Soviet leader, calling him well-fed and smiling mysteriously.

The Japanese cut meat from living people

During World War II, Japanese army soldiers engaged in cannibalism - but, unlike the exhausted residents of besieged Leningrad, they did it not out of hunger, but for fun. The victims were prisoners of war, who were killed, after which they were stripped naked and eaten. The hands and feet were usually not touched due to bonyness. Some had the flesh cut from their arms and legs while they were still alive. Tormented people were thrown into “wells of death.”

Ears were sticking out of the soup

Earlier this year, in one of the Nigerian states in Africa, a restaurant that fed visitors human flesh was closed. The menu was rich and varied, but its ingredients were not advertised. Until the local pastor came to the establishment. Outraged by the high bill, he demanded an explanation. And he found out that he was fed dishes made from human meat. The police detained the owner and employees of the establishment. During the search, two heads wrapped in plastic and a pair of Kalashnikov assault rifles were found.

Sex appetite

Perverted cannibals - it turns out there are also those who are absolutely “horror-horror” - get sexual pleasure from eating the victim. Once, the Frenchman Gilles Garnier strangled a young girl, after which he brought a piece of still warm flesh home and offered it to his wife. After eating, she became unusually hot. The mutual orgasm was incredible.
The caretaker of an almshouse in Prague, whose last name was Thirsch, boiled human meat, ate it, and then spent the whole night hanging around the old women. And winemaker Antoine Léger preferred human carpaccio, which he washed down with fresh blood before going on a date.
By the way, the followers of the cannibal serial killer Nikolai Dzhumagaliev seriously convinced everyone at the trial that the meat of priestesses of love is tastier than the meat of an ordinary woman, since it is saturated with sperm, which gives it tenderness and juiciness.

He gave himself up to be devoured

In March 2001, a resident of the German city of Rothenburg, 41-year-old systems engineer Armin Meiwes, posted an advertisement on the Internet looking for a young guy between 18 and 25 years old who wanted to die and be eaten. His colleague Bernd Brandes responded to such a strange proposal. The young people agreed to meet. Brandes was killed and partially eaten by Meiwes. The villain was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison, accused of manslaughter. But later the case was reviewed, and Meiwes received a life sentence.

Have a laugh and don't choke

Our smaller brothers also sin by eating their own kind. This weakness has been identified in more than 1,300 animal species.
* A female scorpion devours her young at birth or when the larvae climb onto her back. The scorpion removes them from there with her claws and for several hours, savoring them, crushes the crumbs.
* Karakurt and mantis spiders devour males after mating. Ants swallow fallen brethren, preventing them from decomposing and infecting the anthill.
* Most fish do not distinguish young individuals of their species from other prey and often swallow them.

* Among mammals, cannibalism is known in rodents, dogs, bears, lions, chimpanzees, baboons and some others. The female hamster begins to snack on the offspring immediately after their birth and stops when they can already feed themselves. This happens due to severe exhaustion of the body and an acute lack of proteins and minerals after childbirth.

Boys have bloody eyes

They say that whoever has tasted human flesh will never forget its unique sweetish taste. Some compare it to lamb, to others human flesh resembles pork, and others catch banana notes in it.

A few years ago, the world was shocked by photographs taken in China, which depicted the process of cutting up a human embryo. They talked about catering establishments where visitors - creepy - are fed germ soup. Mostly female embryos are used, obtained from pregnant women who do not want to have an “extra” girl. “Boys” are found less frequently and are more expensive.
They wrote that private hospitals that provide abortions trade in the sale of fetuses, while public clinics even distribute them for free. In the Celestial Empire, they believe that embryos contain substances that can prolong the life of the person who eats them. No less in demand are “ripe” babies, who are killed with an injection of alcohol in the head, as well as the placenta, which can be bought for $10. And although it turned out that the nightmare presented in the photographs was an evil joke by photographer Zhu Youyou, who stole an embryo from a medical school, what is striking is the abundance of details describing this delicate process. This Chinese medicine is a murky business...

Cannibalism (from French cannibale, Spanish canibal) is the eating of human flesh by people (the term anthropophagy is also used). In a broader sense, it is the eating of animals of their own species. The name “cannibals” comes from “canib” - the name that before Columbus the inhabitants of the Bahamas called the inhabitants of Haiti, terrible cannibals. Subsequently, the name “cannibal” became equivalent to anthropophagus.

There is everyday and religious cannibalism.
Household farming was practiced under the primitive communal system, due to a lack of food, and was preserved as an exception during widespread famine. In contrast to religious cannibalism, which includes a variety of sacrifices, eating enemies or various body parts, dead relatives. Such eating is justified by the belief that strength and all abilities, skills and character traits will pass to the eater. In part, the cannibalism of maniacs can be attributed to religious.

SO...

Congo

In Congo, cannibalism peaked during the Congolese civil war of 1999-2003. The last case was recorded in 2012. They eat people to scare away enemies, believing that a source of enormous power is hidden in the human heart and by eating it the cannibal receives this power.

West Africa

In West Africa there was a group of cannibals called "Leopards". They were called so by their appearance, since they dressed in leopard skins and were armed with the fangs of these animals. Here and in the 80s of the last century, human remains were found. They explain their passion for human flesh by the fact that this action gives them energy, making them stronger.

Brazil

Brazil is home to the Huari tribe, which is distinguished by its refined taste. Until 1960, their diet included only religious personalities and all kinds of educators. Only recently has the need forced them to eat not only the righteous and God's chosen ones, but also ordinary sinners. To this day, outbreaks of cannibalism often occur here.

It is officially recognized that cannibalism flourishes among them due to their need and high level of poverty. But local residents claim that they hear an inner voice of someone to kill and eat.

Papua New Guinea

The last nationality that constantly consumes human flesh in the 21st century is the Korowai tribe that lives in this area. There is such a scenario that it was here that Michael Rockefeller, the son of a well-known family and the then governor of New York, Nepeson Rockefeller, was eaten. In fact, Michael Rockefeller went on an expedition to Papua New Guinea in 1961 to study the life of this tribe, but he never returned and a number of search expeditions did not produce results.

People eat after the death of a fellow tribesman who died in the absence of any cause or disease, and in order to avoid future deaths, they eat the deceased. Since death without a reason, in their worldview, is black magic.

Cambodia

Cannibalism in this area reached its greatest scale during the wars in Southeast Asia during the 1960s and 1970s. Their warriors had a ritual of eating the liver of the enemy. The reasons why local residents consume human flesh are religious beliefs and the Khmer Rouge famine.

India

In the Indian sect, "Aghori" eat volunteers who bequeathed their bodies after death to the sect. After being eaten, various decorations are made from the bones and skull. In 2005, media investigations conducted here revealed that this religious group was eating corpses from the Ganges River. "Aghori" believe that human flesh is the best elixir of youth.
