Can you blow soap bubbles? It seems that everyone can do it: from small to large. Indeed, he blew into a tube and a soap bubble already soars in the air and shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow. The kids are always very happy about this colorful extravaganza.

Soap bubbles are not just children's entertainment, but also material for studying physical laws. We have already talked about the surface tension of water. So, soap bubbles, the thinnest film of which they are composed, is one of the manifestations of this property of water.

Today we're just going to play! But we must remember that science is hidden in simple phenomena!

How to make soap bubbles?

Before the game begins, you need to make a solution for soap bubbles. Here we will highlight two ways, but if you know others, then be sure to write about it in the comments.

Method 1

The most suitable soap for blowing bubbles is laundry soap 72%. It is better not to take the usual toilet for this undertaking. Soap should be rubbed and diluted with boiled water. There are recommendations to take melted snow or rain water, but in the absence of such, we will use cold boiled water. Soap should not be diluted too much, otherwise the bubbles will burst quickly. To a concentrated soap solution for the strength of blown bubbles, add glycerin 1/3 of the volume.

Method 2

This method suited us better, because we really did not like the smell of laundry soap. We took 600 ml of water, 200 ml of dishwashing detergent (Fairy type) and 100 ml of glycerin. All poured into one bottle and went to experiment.

Why does a soap bubble rise up?

We are used to the fact that soap bubbles beautifully rush upwards, and no longer pay attention to it. When, for the experiment, we blew bubbles in winter, we noticed that they do not rise up, but fly down almost immediately.

It's all about the air temperature! The warm air from breathing that fills the bubble is lighter than the surrounding air, so the bubbles rise. The cold winter air cools the bubble very quickly and does not allow it to rise. By the way, if the air temperature is less than 25 C, then you can watch how soap bubbles freeze!

In order to make large soap bubbles, we used a regular funnel, with which liquids are poured into bottles. The solution for soap bubbles was poured into a plate, the wide part of the funnel was dipped into the liquid and blown.

We carried out soap experiments on the street, which aroused the interest of the yard children. We were joined by both big and small ones. The kids really wanted to blow bubbles too, but they weren’t allowed in, then out of harm they poured sand into the solution. Hooligans, albeit girls.

The most interesting thing started later. To launch giant bubbles, she made such a device: she tied a long cord to two pencils. When you hold pencils in both hands, the string forms a kind of triangle. Then everything is simple: either you blow or you smoothly move your hands to the side, and the wind does all the work for you.

I still don’t know what we’ll do chemistry tomorrow, but we’ll definitely do something!

Having fun outdoors in summer is especially pleasant and exciting with bright soap bubbles. After all, this is a favorite children's fun for girls and boys. And making your own solution for giant soap bubbles is now easy and simple. Do you have a prescription. If you like our selection of tips - click the " will share ". Let your friends and acquaintances also spend an exciting weekend and give children a lot of exciting emotions. Call the wind for help. He will be happy to help you in an exciting game with soap bubbles.

Successful experiments! Science is fun!

All children love to blow bubbles. Almost no holiday with the participation of the youngest guests is complete without this fun entertainment. Meanwhile, many mothers and fathers are afraid to buy special solutions in stores, since low-quality and, in some cases, harmful substances are used for their production. In addition, very often they pout badly, so the baby can be upset and will not get any pleasure from this entertainment.

In this article, we will tell you how to make big soap bubbles at home so that your child is happy and satisfied.

To make your soap bubbles easy to inflate and of high quality, during their preparation, use the following recommendations:

  • Carefully consider the choice of liquid for the preparation of a soap solution. Boiled water or non-carbonated bottled water, which can be purchased at any store, is best for you. Also, good results are obtained using melted or distilled water;
  • It is necessary to use a detergent with a minimum amount of perfumes and other additives. The less additional chemical substances will be included in its composition, the more reliable the result you can achieve;
  • If you want to get a liquid from which the strongest, most stable and iridescent balls are blown out, take more glycerin or sugar previously dissolved in warm water. At the same time, try not to overdo it, otherwise it will be very difficult to blow them out, and the child will not be able to cope with them;
  • For the smallest, this option is not suitable. Make the solution less dense and the baby will be able to blow bubbles on his own, however, they will be slightly smaller and much less stable;
  • Before use, soapy liquid should be infused for 12 to 24 hours;
  • Try to avoid foam and all possible ways reduce its quantity;
  • The best results are obtained if the solution is prepared in a room with high humidity. At the same time, make sure that there is no draft in this room.

Soap bubbles are a fun, exciting entertainment that adults and kids enjoy. Now it is not difficult to buy such a funny toy. But the liquid in it runs out pretty quickly, and instead of great childish joy, we see pouting lips. In order not to upset the crumbs that have played out, you can try to make the solution yourself.

How to make soap bubbles at home? What ingredients are required for this? More on this below.

The history of soap bubbles goes back several thousand years. During the excavations of Pompeii, wall paintings were found with people blowing bubbles through sticks. Similar drawings were also found in China.

The appearance of such fun is directly related to the invention and distribution of soap. Who came up with the idea of blowing bubbles out of the foam is not known for certain. But in the second half of the 19th century in London they began to sell a special liquid with which you could get rainbow balls.

Initially, the bubbles were inflated through a thin straw. Later, a special device (soap bubble generator) was developed, which itself produced a large number of foam balls. Over time, such equipment began to be used in organizing festive events, in theaters, and on film sets.

Making baby bubbles

To prepare children's fun, you will need a solution and tubes through which rainbow balloons are blown. The composition of soap bubbles necessarily includes detergent, as well as water.

  • It is best to prepare a foamy liquid with boiled water. It can be replaced with distilled.
  • The soap used should contain as few impurities as possible, perfume fragrances.
  • In order for the solution to turn out to be of high quality, and the bubbles to be strong, you need to add a little sugar and glycerin to the water.
  • Before use, the resulting liquid should be kept for about 10-12 hours.
  • If foam has formed on the surface of the finished composition, it must be removed, or the liquid should be set aside for a while in a cool place.

How to check the prepared solution for quality? A good iridescent bubble about 3 cm in diameter will last about half a minute. You can also check the strength of the ball by moistening your finger in the foamy liquid and gently touching it. If the soap bubble solution is prepared correctly, it will not burst.

Home appliances for blowing

On the shelves of modern stores you can find a huge number of different sets for soap bubbles. A variety of devices allow you to blow large, small and even giant soap bubbles. But at home, you can use improvised items or make them yourself.

Tubes or straws are suitable for blowing. To get larger bubbles, their edges on one side can be cut and then bent into a flower shape. Also suitable for regular plastic bottle with cut bottom. Some craftsmen blow foam balls through their fingers.

A convenient fixture is easy to make from ordinary wire. Beads are put on one end of it, and the other is wrapped in the shape of a circle or square. To get large balls, take two identical sticks and tie them together with a woolen thread. The thread is dipped into the solution, allowed to completely soak, and then, changing the position of the sticks, bubbles of various sizes are made.

bubble gun

On the shelves of modern children's stores, you can very often find pistols to create a whole cascade of rainbow balloons. The kids love these gadgets because they run on batteries and there is no need to blow bubbles, the gun will do everything by itself.

You just need to make sure that the foamy liquid does not end.

If it is still over, you can do it yourself at home. Dishwashing detergent is best for this purpose. It foams well, and the bubbles from it are small and bright.

Have to take:

  • detergent 100 grams;
  • pure water 300 grams;
  • glycerin 50 grams.

All ingredients are well mixed and allowed to brew for about an hour. After this time, you can blow bubbles. If you didn’t like the result, then you can try to make soap bubbles without glycerin according to the same recipe.

Conditions under which soap solutions work

The film of air bubbles from soap is quite thin. That is why external and weather conditions greatly affect their quality. In clear, too sunny weather, the balloons may not inflate or burst immediately, and even a store-bought solution will not help. It is best to spend fun with a soapy solution in non-hot, humid weather. In the morning or in the late afternoon when the sun is so bright.

Air bubbles are excellent near open water or after rain.

If you plan to play indoors, you should turn off the air conditioners and eliminate even a small draft. In a dusty room, blowing balloons will also fail.

Soap bubbles for children

Strong and long-lasting bubbles are made from ordinary laundry soap. To do this, a whole bar is rubbed on a grater and poured with boiled hot water in a ratio of 1 to 10. The resulting mixture is well stirred so that all the pieces dissolve.

Interesting games with soap bubbles

All of the above compositions are suitable not only for blowing flying bubbles. There is a lot of fun with a regular straw and a solution.

Here is some of them:

  1. You need to take an ordinary flat plate, grease it with a foamy solution. Then, with the help of a tube, a bubble of large diameter is blown out and carefully disconnected from it. Then the tube is inserted inside the ball and another smaller one is blown out. The procedure can be repeated several times. The kid will definitely like these rainbow pyramids.
  2. It is very interesting to blow bubbles in the cold. If the air temperature drops below -7 ° C, the balls will quickly freeze and remain lying on the snow.
  3. With the help of such bubbles, you can draw whole pictures. To do this, the finished liquid is poured into several containers, then food colors or watercolors are added to each. A tube is lowered into the jar, a ball is blown out and applied to a prepared sheet of paper. Spots remain on the white canvas, which gradually form a whole pattern.
  4. With air bubbles, you can arrange outdoor games. It's a lot of fun when kids try to keep flying balloons in the air. To do this, you just need to blow on them from below. Whoever allowed his bubble to fly longer won.
  5. For older children, you can arrange a relay race. The guys are divided into two teams. Each of the participants blows the balloon, catches it on his tube. The child must carry this entire structure to the identification mark and back, and then pass the tube to the next in his team. The team that completes the task faster wins.

Blowing Safety

Blowing bubbles out of soap, although considered safe fun, also requires compliance with certain rules.

They should not be run near roads where motor vehicles move. Children or dogs chasing a rainbow ball can jump out under the wheels.

If they are inflated indoors, it is necessary to periodically wipe the floor, provided that it is made of linoleum or laminate. On the remnants of the solution, the crumbs can easily slip. Especially a lot of traces are left by the machine for soap bubbles.

Of course, you will need a special composition and a special launch device - in the form of a slingshot. But all this is easy to make at home. The main thing is to know from what.

First, let's deal with the special solution. We offer two composition recipes for giant soap bubbles. All components are weighed in grams. For one part, you can take, for example, 50 g. Distilled water can be bought at a pharmacy or in stores at a gas station. Glycerin is sold in a pharmacy - in jars of 25 g.

Recipe #1

  • 8 parts distilled water
  • 2 parts dish soap
  • 1.5 parts glycerin
  • 0.5 part sugar
  • 0.5 parts gelatin

Soak the gelatin in water (according to the recipe on the bag), leave to swell. Then strain and drain off excess water. Melt the gelatin with sugar without boiling. Pour the resulting liquid into 8 parts of distilled water, add the rest of the ingredients and mix gently.

You can't foam water! Foam is the enemy of soap bubbles.

Recipe #2

  • 10 parts distilled water
  • 3 parts thick dish soap
  • 2 parts lube gel without impurities
  • 1.4 parts glycerin

Mix gel, glycerin and dishwashing liquid. Add hot distilled water. Mix very thoroughly. You can use an immersion blender, but the main thing is not to create foam on the surface.

Bubbles made according to the second recipe are the most tenacious. They are even able to "run" on the water, driven by the wind.

Bubble liquid is ready! It remains to make a launch tool (you can have your own for each participant in the show). We have prepared

Summary: Large soap bubbles. Giant soap bubbles recipe. Soap bubbles recipe. Soap bubbles pictures. Solution for soap bubbles composition. Make your own bubble solution. Soap bubble liquid recipe.

Transparent balls flying through the air and shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow. What's this? Well, of course, everyone knows the answer - soap bubbles. This fun has been known since ancient times and attracts both children and adults. For example, during the excavations of the famous city of Pompeii, frescoes were found depicting children blowing soap bubbles. This fun is no less popular in our age of high technology.

In this article, we suggest that you and your child learn how to blow giant soap bubbles. Believe me, it's hard to imagine a more exciting summer fun!

To inflate giant bubbles you will need:

1. Soap solution for bubbles
2. Bubble blower

The easiest way to prepare a solution is as follows: 200 gr. dishwashing detergents (for example, Fairy) you need to take 600 ml. water and 100 ml. glycerin (sold at any pharmacy). Glycerin is exactly the tool that makes the walls of the soap bubble stronger, and the bubble itself, respectively, more long-lived.

The water must be soft. Hard water contains a lot of salts, which makes the bubbles brittle and burst quickly. The easiest way to soften water is to boil it well and let it stand so that the salt settles to the bottom. To prepare the solution, it is better to take warm water - soap dissolves in it quickly.

Mix everything well and your solution is ready.

Now you need to make an inflatable device. It consists of two sticks, between which a rope is tied so that it forms a loop in the shape of a triangle.

You can buy sticks, or you can use ordinary tree branches or a long thick wire. To make your device look more aesthetically pleasing, drill holes in the sticks with a drill and screw special round hooks into them, through which you will then thread the rope. See photo below.

Or, in order not to waste time, the rope can simply be wound on sticks (branches). If you are using thick wire as holders, then simply bend it at the ends so that you have loops for threading the rope.

Also, to make the device, you will need some kind of small weight that you hang from the bottom of the rope so that it forms a loop in the shape of a triangle.
